Dear Maintainer,

since bootup a kworker uses nearly 100% of a cpu core. This situation is reproducible every time:

PID USER      PR  NI  VIRT  RES  SHR S  %CPU %MEM     TIME+ COMMAND
196 root      20   0     0    0    0 R  98.8  0.0  31:54.73 kworker/4:1

I discovered that booting with modprobe.blacklist=nouveau does not lead to a kworker using 100% of cpu.

I first found this problem when i upgraded from kernel 3.2 to 3.9.
This problem persists in 3.9, 3.10, 3.11 from experimental and also 3.12 rc5.
I tested kernel 3.11 from a ubuntu 13.10 live cd, where the problem did occur.
I also tested kernel 3.8 from a ubuntu 12.04.3 live cd where the problem did not occur.

Maybe it can be interesting to know that this machine has a nvidia 650m which does not make use of the optimus technology. The intel gpu is not present.

Hi

This bug was filed for a very old kernel or the bug is old itself
without resolution.

If you can reproduce it with

- the current version in unstable/testing
- the latest kernel from backports

please reopen the bug, see https://www.debian.org/Bugs/server-control
for details.

Regards,
Salvatore
