Bug#952710: firmware-amd-graphics: AMD Navi GPU doesn't work
Package: firmware-amd-graphics
Version: 20190717-2
Followup-For: Bug #952710
Dear Maintainer,
I can confirm that this is still broken. Without navi10_gpu_info.bin, on an RX 5700 XT,
the modesetting driver does not load, so text mode does not work. Once booted up, virtual
terminals are unavailable and the graphics is not hardware accelerated. If the disks are
encrypted, then booting up is hard because the prompt is not shown. Recovery mode is
impossible without setting nomodeset in grub.
Copying navi10_* from linux-firmware git to /lib/firmware/amdgpu fixes the problem.
