Bug#924453: linux-image-4.19.0-2-arm64: please enable driver for AMD Seattle RNG
Package: src:linux
Version: 4.19.16-1
Severity: normal
Dear Maintainer,
Please enable the following Kconfig options in the arm64 kernels:
CONFIG_CRYPTO_DEV_CCP=y
CONFIG_CRYPTO_DEV_CCP_DD=m
CONFIG_CRYPTO_DEV_SP_CCP=y
CONFIG_CRYPTO_DEV_CCP_CRYPTO=m
This is needed to gain access to the crypto accelerator in the ARM Seattle
arm64 SoC, which also implements the platform's random number generator. Since
the platform does not have any other entropy sources, the lack of access to the
on-SoC RNG causes boot delays, SSH logins that time out etc etc
