Bug#859639:

Update:
I can confirm that the solution (or workaround) provided by Uwe is working also on my ProBook 6450b.

First some hardware info:
00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation Core Processor Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 02) (prog-if 00 [VGA controller])
Subsystem: Hewlett-Packard Company Core Processor Integrated Graphics Controller
Control: I/O+ Mem+ BusMaster+ SpecCycle- MemWINV- VGASnoop- ParErr- Stepping- SERR- FastB2B- DisINTx-
    Status: Cap+ 66MHz- UDF- FastB2B+ ParErr- DEVSEL=fast >TAbort- <TAbort- <MAbort- >SERR- <PERR- INTx-
    Latency: 0
Interrupt: pin A routed to IRQ 10
    Region 0: Memory at d0000000 (64-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=4M]
    Region 2: Memory at c0000000 (64-bit, prefetchable) [size=256M]
    Region 4: I/O ports at 4050 [size=8]
[virtual] Expansion ROM at 000c0000 [disabled] [size=128K]
    Capabilities: [90] MSI: Enable- Count=1/1 Maskable- 64bit-
        Address: 00000000  Data: 0000
Capabilities: [d0] Power Management version 2

My /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/20-intel.conf contains:
Section "Device"
        Identifier      "Intel Graphics"
        Driver          "intel"
        Option          "AccelMethod"   "SNA"
        Option          "TearFree"      "true"
        Option          "Tiling"        "true"
EndSection

I no longer experience black screen and hard freeze (on my system not even alt+sysrq+RSEIUB worked).

Many thanks to Uwe for providing not only a well written bug report, but also a solution!
