Bug#884001: [src:linux] Graphics flickering and system freeze after last kernel upgrade

Just after upgrade of kernel image last WE, I've got graphics flickering and system hangs.

The freeze issue is 100% reproducible by pressing tab key on a gnome-terminal running bash.

The system become unresponsive and could not ping it using WIFI (did not test wired connection though).

Upgrade was according to aptitude.log:
