Looking at the original kernel log, I see: [ 8.582702] hda_codec: ALC262: SKU not ready 0x411111f0 which I think means the laptop has a Realtek ALC262 audio chip. The module parameter 'model=vaio' should only have an effect for the Sigmatel STAC9872. Are you sure this makes a difference?
