Changes to kdump-tools functionality

-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----

Hello,

Following a bug identified on Ubuntu[1] where OOM gets triggered when a kernel
dump capture is needed, I am preparing a modification of kdump-tools to use
smaller initrd.img.

I have described the details of the modification on my blog[2]. Being the
maintainer of makedumpfile/kdump-tools on Debian, I am contemplating the
opportunity to bring that modification to Debian first.

This is why I am posting to the list : I would appreciate your point of view on
the matter, since the kernel team is mostly concerned by how kernel dump capture
is achieved on Debian.

Thank you in advance,

Kind regards,

...Louis
