Severity: important

Dear Maintainer,

Boot process with linux 3.8 stops with message that root device wasn't found
and I should check kernel command line or increase timeout required for root
device get ready. Also it opens busybox where I can do something to fix the
issue.

If I run ls /sys/block I see only sda, sdb and sr0. While in "good" system
there sh'ld also present dm-0 (root) and dm-1 (swap).

If I run scripts/local-top/lvm2 I see message like

[ 90.701171] bio: create slab <bio-1> at 1

Now I leave console and boot process continues successfully.

In dmesg for linux 3.2 I can see that device-mapper shows it's messages after
sda & sdb get ready, but in 3.8 they are in the middle of the process. So I
added line "sleep 1" into scripts/local-top/lvm2 before "modprobe -q dm-mod"
(and so before 'activate_vg "$ROOT"'), it helped.

Dmesg for system loaded by hands is attached.
