Bug#697501: AR9285: enabling or disabling Wi-Fi freezes the system
Hello.
Today I tried to test different kernels to find any information.
And here that I found:
Freezes on 3.2.54-2 and 3.13-1 is different.
On 3.2.54-2 there can be normally some connections and disconnections before system has frozen.
On 3.13-1 system freezes on the first attempt to disconnect from network (wired (only when wi-fi card is enabled) or wireless network - no difference). iw event -t shows nothing. There is one interesting moment: in some seconds after hangup the image on the screen becomes black or turns into color bands.
I also found that the latest normal working kernel is 2.6.38-2 (I found it just now since hangups on this kernel are very rare in difference from later). And on kernel 2.6.38-3 I have got a freeze.
P.S. All this occurred on a notebook Gateway LT3103u.
