Dear Maintainer,

Issue:

I cannot poweroff or reboot the system via CLI or GUI. The software shutdown
process runs as intended but the system does not poweroff nor reboot.
This seems to be an issue with the 3-series kerrnel, as the 2.6-series from
Squeeze works as intended.

What if you don't load fglrx?

Ben.

If I purge fglrx I can poweroff and reboot from CLI, GUI/X and a terminal. With the module loaded it seems random although not being able to shutdown/reboot from GUI is consistent. I could be wrong on assuming the kernel is the reason but since my sound card is randomly detected and indexed as well, I am inclined to believe so. Oh, and by the way, with fglrx loaded, when rebooting/powering off from GUI/X I get a scrambled screen http://i.imgur.com/faRGeAf.jpg

Cheers
