Bug#679978: Thinkpad X220: fails to shutdown, hard reset required

tags 679978 - moreinfo
thanks

I have had the same behavior for a long while on my X201, regardless of
whether I invoke a reboot or shutdown via KDE prompts or console using
various incantations of 'halt', 'reboot', 'shutdown -{r,h}'. I usually
suspend, so this hasn't been too annoying, but after the laptop is
halted or rebooted, it must be hard powered down via a long press on the
power button after successfully running through all the shutdown
procedures, ending in either '[info] Will now halt.' or '[info] Will now
restart.' and hanging there.

Attached are the dmesg and acpidump output from my Thinkpad X201. I hope
they are helpful - feel free to let me know if there is any additional
info I can provide or workarounds to try!
