Or it could be a problem with PCI setup.  I don't see anything wrong
with what the driver's doing.  (But then, I don't see anything wrong
with the PCI configuration either.)

Does Linux 3.8 (linux-image-3.8-2-amd64 package in unstable) work any
better?

Please send the contents of /proc/ioports when running Linux 3.2 (and
3.8, if that works better).
