I have tested kernel linux-image-3.2.0-4.drm-686-pae suggested by you and the results were even worse than before. On previously reported [faulty] kernel version going from fullscreen mode of playing video to the windowed mode was freezing the system. On this version [linux-image-3.2.0-4.drm-686-pae] even going from the static player window to the fullscreen freezes everything [same results as with the reported faulty kernel version - screen goes black and whole OS is completely unresponsive].
