Package: linux-2.6 Severity: wishlist The lguest launcher is needed to use the new lguest hypervisor included since 2.6.23 in the mainstream kernel. The sources are in Documentation/lguest (lguest.c and a makefile). Compiling requires the kernel tree and config file so it (IMHO) makes sense to do it while building the rest of the kernel. -- System Information: Debian Release: lenny/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (990, 'unstable'), (500, 'experimental'), (400, 'testing') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.23-1-686 (SMP w/1 CPU core) Locale: LANG=C, LC_CTYPE=C (charmap=ANSI_X3.4-1968) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash

Sorry, we're not going to do this. In fact, we'll be removing the incomplete lguest support instead. It's not a production virtualisation system, more an example for developers to experiment with. And in general, we don't enable features that are intended specifically for use by kernel developers, as they will build their own kernel images. As you may know, kernel-package has support for building an lguest package. Ben. -- Ben Hutchings I say we take off; nuke the site from orbit. It's the only way to be sure.Attachment: signature.asc
