Ah, that's more like it. Thanks for the quick feedback.
To summarize what's known so far:
* 3.2.12-1 previously worked
* 3.2.6-1 still works
* 3.2.14-1 does not work
* 3.2.12-1 does not work
* the PCI subsystem correctly detects the Ethernet card's PCI id
* the r8169 module does not get loaded, or at least it does not write
its usual greeting

Perhaps the difference between the working and non-working versions
has to do with when the initramfs was generated.
Please attach output from "reportbug --template initramfs-tools" and
"dpkg-query -W kmod libkmod2".
