I managed to boot into system by giving boot parameter (forgot what exactly,
found it from net) that disabled kms. After that I installed
firmware-linux-nonfree and system works now fine. I'm using wheezy/sid
userspace and kernel (now 3.2.10-1, 3.0.x worked too).

Kernel should fall back to non-kms mode if firmware isn't installed
(didn't test if current kernel works better with missing fw than 3.0).
