Bug#656341: linux-image-3.1.0-1-amd64: KMS not enabled with ATI Radeon HD 6310 (but it works with Ubuntu 11.10)

Dear Maintainer,

   this is a relatively new computer and since there are some problems with the first system I tried on it (Ubuntu 11.10, starting in beta) I thought I'd rather use Debian instead.

   So far I could not get KMS to work in Debian, although I tried different kernels (3.2.0-rc7 too) and even compiling my own kernel with Radeon firmware built-in (which failed to boot, though).

   Interestingly KMS does work in Ubuntu (kernel 3.0). I'd love to see it work in Debian too!

P.S.: Only from this report I notice that "experimental" was my preferred source - a mistake, I wanted it to be "unstable". But that should not affect KMS in any way, should it?
