Is this reproducible without the virtualbox drivers?  (I assume it is,
but it seems worthwhile to check anyway.)  Please send the first oops
message (it should say "Not tainted"), for example by rebooting with
the virtualbox drivers blacklisted, triggering the problem, and then
attaching full "dmesg" output.

Hmm.  There have been some important block layer changes upstream
recently, so please test v3.2-rc1 or later once it hits experimental
(or sooner, if you have the time to build from source).  Then we can
take this upstream.
