Bug#620101: marked as done (linux-source-2.6.38: CONFIG_WIRELESS_EXT can only be enabled by CONFIG_HOSTAP)

I tried to compile "wl" with "m-a a-i broadcom-sta" and the error message told
me:
"WIRELESS_EXT is not defined"
After "make menuconfig" i searched for it, got redirected, but could not enable
WIRELESS_EXT.
Finally i found the solution here:

I suspect you actually want WEXT_CORE, which is enabled if either
WIRELESS_EXT or CFG80211_WEXT are enabled.  You can directly enable
CFG80211_WEXT.

Anyway, if your custom configuration breaks out-of-tree modules, that is
really your problem - not a bug.
