Package: linux-image-2.6.32-5-amd64 Version: 2.6.32-23 Severity: normal The chipset nvidia mcp89 used in apple 2010 macbookpro is not properly configured by debian installer. This block the installation process. This bug has been reported and fixed on launchpad.net, see bug #576601. A patch has been created by Iwamatsu and can be found here: http://www.nigauri.org/~iwamatsu/trash/macbook71.patch Iwamatsu said in his patch: "For some reason, MCP89 on MacBook 7,1 doesn't work with ahci, use ata_generic instead." This bug has been reported from an ubuntu-lucid install due to this incompatibility of current debian kernel. -- System Information: Debian Release: squeeze/sid APT prefers lucid-updates APT policy: (500, 'lucid-updates'), (500, 'lucid-security'), (500, 'lucid-backports'), (500, 'lucid') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 2.6.32-25-generic (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash
