I notice that in your original report you wrote:

This means you are not running the current kernel version (which would
be reported as 2.6.32-5-686).  I suggest you remove
linux-image-2.6.32-trunk-686 and reboot.

I believe this bug was fixed (or at least worked-around) in version
2.6.32-12.
