Just on more question: are you sure you're _running_ 2.6.32-5-kirkwood
and not an older one.  You can check with: uname -a

There's a bug that causes flash-kernel not be executed when you
install a new kernel, so many people still run the old one... you can
fix this by running:
  flash-kernel
  reboot
