Thank you. I have tried and it also works for me (with the forcelvds patch,
because otherwise inteldrmfb thinks my laptop lid is closed and no use drawing
any screen).
If I pass to the kernel vga=ext instead of video=i915 I boot in text mode, but afterwards
X loads fine and I can switch vts smoothly (Ctrl-Alt-F1, Ctrl-Alt-F7). Must be KMS. Efifb
does no longer appear in logs, and fb0 is inteldrmfb.
If I use both parameters vga=ext and video=i915 it boots in graphical mode
and X loads fine, KMS fine.
I'll try 2.6.32-9 when it gets to sid, to see if that works even without vga=ext.
