Bug#538431: I got a similar error

After installing the module, I issued the command:
sudo modprobe fglrx


The error is :

FATAL: Error inserting fglrx 
(/lib/modules/2.6.30-1-686/nonfree/fglrx/fglrx.ko): Cannot allocate memory


The machine is with ATI x700.
