tracking the kernel with svn

Hello, d-kernel people,

You are tracking the kernel packaging with SVN. Do you just import
snapshots/tarballs and maintain your changes across them, or do you
have some funky setup that allows you to keep an SVN repo in sync
with a Git upstream?

This is a serious question, not flame bait or facetiousness, as we
are trying to find a strategy for a similar situation and would love
to benefit from your experience.
