Package: linux-image-2.6.17-2-686
Version: 2.6.17-9
Severity: normal

Hi,

First, these are the lines in /boot/grub/menu.lst I used to boot the
system:

title Xen 3.0-unstable-1-i386 / Debian GNU/Linux, kernel
2.6.17-2-xen-686
root (hd0,4)
kernel /boot/xen-3.0-unstable-1-i386.gz
module /boot/vmlinuz-2.6.17-2-xen-686 root=/dev/hda5 ro
console=tty0
module /boot/initrd.img-2.6.17-2-xen-686
savedefault

During the boot sequence everything seems normal, until the gdm init
scripts is executed. This freezes the system and it's not possible to
switch to a text console, since the keyboard doesn't work. The screen
becomes blank and no output is displayed.

I've tried to boot in single user mode, and when I manually start gdm
init script (after having started xend) the same happens.

I'm using xserver-xorg 7.1.0-5 and my card is VGA compatible
controller: Intel Corporation 82865G Integrated Graphics Controller (rev
02), as shown by lspci. I'm using i810 X driver. Really don't know if
this might be an X bug, but it didn't happen with 2.6.16-2-xen-686 from
backports. Prior to the installation of linux-image-2.6.17-2-xen-686 I
purged old packages related to xen installed from backports.

Thanks.
