Package: kernel-image-powerpc
Version: 100
Severity: normal

Somewhere in the 2.6.8 series, and still in 2.6.9, iBooks cannot wake
from sleep. This is a SERIOUS problem. There are two known workarounds:
   1) Tell HAL to stop polling the CD/DVD
   2) Stop HAL before sleep, start after wake
However, Sjoerd Simmons says it is not HAL-specific, but that any
userspace program which polls the CD/DVD at just the right time would
cause the problem.

The problem is documented in three places that I know of:
  http://lists.debian.org/debian-powerpc/2005/01/msg00382.html
  http://bugs.debian.org/286820
  https://bugzilla.ubuntu.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1940

Thank you,
   Charles

there is no second bug report of this, so i doubt that this issue still
exists with current linux-image and xorg, thus closing.
also bug reporter didn't respond on old ping.
