After updating to the latest k7 kernel package the pci (and other sound modules are
missing, thus no sound is avaliable on the system:

$ ls /lib/modules/2.6.16-1-k7/kernel/sound/

The -686 version of the package is fine:

$ ls /lib/modules/2.6.16-1-686/kernel/sound/
core  drivers  i2c  isa  oss  pci  pcmcia  soundcore.ko  synth  usb
