Package: debian-installer-manual Version: 20041027 I'm not quite sure what package to file this against, please reassign it if this is not correct. The Sarge RC1 boot disk doesn't see the IDE in a Presario 711 EA (AMD Duron) unless I mention ``noapic'' on the boot line. The BIOS disables the APIC, and cpuid claims the processor doesn't have a local APIC. However, the kernel reenables it. I don't know what the solution is; I usually use non-APIC kernels on this machine, thus avoiding any trouble. I guess documenting the issue might be enough. Juliusz
