By policy, all patches we apply beyond the obvious Debian stuff, XEN and 
vserver must be backports, read they must go through the upstream quality 
assurance, and if they got accepted upstream, we can consider applying them 
on the current Debian kernel.

For this special case, the issue is open since sarge, and the patch was
either NACKed upstream, or never submitted, I don't remember.
However, in the first case we won't apply it in it's current state, it
needs to be fixed so upstream accepts it. If it was never submitted,
this should be done now, and we will happily apply it as soon as it got
blessed.
