Bug#438458: intel_agp-module incorrectly detects 965 chipsets as 965G
Package: linux-image-2.6.18-5-amd64
Version: 2.6.18.dfsg.1-13etch1
Followup-For: Bug #438458
I also have a P5B motherboard, and I think the freeze on boot is
related to the following backport (from the changelog):
* Backport support for i965 to agp too. (closes: #406111)
Asus P5B has an Intel P965-chipset (without G), and the freeze happens
after the message
agpgart: Detected an Intel 965G Chipset.
Earlier versions, at least linux-image-2.6.18-4-amd64 version
2.6.18.dfsg.1-12etch2 works fine.
Also, as a simple workaround, if I delete intel_agp.ko from /lib/modules/...
so that it cannot be loaded, then also version 2.6.18.dfsg.1-13etch1
works fine.
