Bug#408909: initramfs-tools: incorrectly claims initrd.img was altered (S/390)

Package: initramfs-tools
Version: 0.85e
Severity: important

As you can see from the update log below, initramfs-tools fails to update an
initrd that was created only just before. How can it have been altered?

This may be an S/390 specific problem. Please let me know what additional
information you need.
