Bug#397217: linux-image-2.6-k7: shutdown final messages vs. USB

Package: linux-image-2.6-k7
Version: 2.6.17+2
Severity: minor

Please reassign to correct package.
All I know is upon shutdown -h, the screen, just before the "Power down"
message, is left with lots of
  1-1.1:1.0 cannot disable/reset/enable port 1(error=-108)
or something messages.

If we, before shutdown -h, first umout our card reader and unplug it
from the USB socket, we won't get the aforementioned messages on the
lingering on the final power down screen, but see instead via dmesg
various:
sdc : sense not available.
sdc : status=0, message=00, host=1, driver=00
sdc : READ CAPACITY failed.
Buffer I/O error on device sdd, logical block 0
sdc: Mode Sense: 00 00 00 00
sdd:<3> 0:0:0:3: rejecting I/O to dead device
unable to read partition table
sdc: Write Protect is off
sdc: assuming drive cache: write through

Anyway, it is not every user who's monitor stays on after one's
motherboard's power is off, so I might have seen messages others
don't.
