Just to clarify things, all freeze cases where using the bcm53xx driver ? Is
this not a typo for the bcm43xx driver, and thus the issue may be something
which is fixed in the 2.6.18.1 upstream release, and available in the upcoming
2.6.18-3 upload. Changelog entry says :

     - bcm43xx: fix regressions in 2.6.18 (Closes: #392065)

If so, it is important you try the daily snapshot builds Bastian mentioned.
