Hi, Apparently one of the old worries of using initramfs-tools as default for the upcoming release of Debian is no more: The maintainer of initramfs-tools, Maximilian Attems, today adjusted the status and comparison page of ramdisk tools[1], stating in the changelog that there is no problems using MODULES=dep instead of the current default, MODULES=most. It used to be discouraged to even test out that setting[2], but apparantly all problems have since vanished. Have all arches since then improved to no longer need smaller kernels? Do any of the currently supported arches still require floppies or other space-limited media? If not, we should perhaps request that initramfs-tools switch to using MODULES=dep by default. Or did I somehow misunderstand something, Max?
