Ah. Traps for young players. No region was set on the DVD drive. Having
set it, I can now play DVDs and the above errors have gone away!

Surely all the players shouldn't crash and die under this senario,
though? Is this the srt of thing that the kerne should handle ore
elegantly? Or is it bugs with the dvd players?
