I guess it would be possible to do something clever there, 
though off hand I am not entirely sure what. Perhaps not
try the rmmod at all. But the thing is that the "permanent" 
status of these modules should be removed as some problems
with the IDE system are resolved. In other words, these
modules are permanent because otherwise things will break
in the 2.6.10 kernel, but a better fix is likely in the future
and the modules will likely no longer be permanent. So with
that in mind, any work around for excess warning messages
seems like effort that might be better spent elsewhere.
