Package: kernel-image-2.6.11-1-k7
Version: 2.6.11-7
Severity: normal

The module snd_via82xx is supposed to detect the builtin MPU of VIA82C686 units. It does so under kernel-image-2.6.8-2-k7, but not
kernel-image-2.6.8-1-k7. I haven't been able to get it working with a custom kernel or by passing options (like mpu_port=330) to the
module, either.

It sounds likely its a hardware problem.
I'm going ahead and closing it as you suggest.
