sure, but handling some situations well is often better than handling no
situations well :)

okay, that got me as far as building an image (although the Template.cfg
patch didn't apply cleanly to version 0.0.11-9 of yaird, but i figured
it out all the same). perhaps include (and if needed, update) these
patches in a README.nfsroot or doc/examples/nfsroot.cfg or some such?

ideally, a simple setup could be enabled by changing a single
configuration option :)

unfortunately, i still wasn't able to get it to boot, having
similar/identical issues as with initramfs-tools: debian bug 336519
