There are 2.6.12 kernels floating around for sarge :

(powerpc ones)

(i386 ones)
Not sure, horms built those, but i don't have the link in mind, search the
archive, they where announced here.

We will have 2.6.14-1 in unstable today, and soon have sarge backports of
those, probably from our kernel.debian.net archive or something, which may
contain already some security packages.

The rest is politics and i will let someone else comment on it.
