Bug#326088: powernow-k7.ko fails to load on kernel 2.6.8-2-k7

Package: kernel-image-2.6.8-2-k7
Version: 2.6.8-16

The powernow-k7 module fails to load into kernel 2.6.8-2-k7 running on
an Athlon Mobile processor.

Example:
--------
# depmod
# modprobe powernow-k7
FATAL: Error inserting powernow_k7
(/lib/modules/2.6.8-2-k7/kernel/arch/i386/kernel/cpu/cpufreq/powernow-k7.ko):
No such device

It seems as though the module is aborting because ACPI is broken on my
machine. From what I understand, powernow and the associated CPUFreq
subsystem in the 2.6 kernel are independent of ACPI and should
function properly without it. I am running a Athlon Mobile (Barton
core) on a Shuttle SK41G XPC. The Shuttle SK41G uses the VIA KM266
chipset.

Debian bug #252429 reported a similar problem against kernel 2.6.6-1.
