Package: kernel-source-2.6.11
Version: 2.6.11-5
Severity: minor

Hi,

I just bought a usr997902, which uses the r8169-chipset. However the 8169 driver
from the kernel-source (no parameters given) won't recognize the NIC (compiled
as module as well as compiled into the kernel). Fortunately the shipped driver
recognizes the card. From the README of the shipped driver:
"<RTL8169 Linux kernel driver>

  Version: 2.0
    Date: 2004-04-16
[...]"

lspci -v
"0000:00:0b.0 Ethernet controller: U.S. Robotics: Unknown device 0116 (rev 10)
Subsystem: U.S. Robotics: Unknown device 0116
Flags: bus master, 66MHz, medium devsel, latency 32, IRQ 5
	I/O ports at a400 [size=256]
	Memory at db004000 (32-bit, non-prefetchable)
	[size=256]
	Capabilities: <available only to root>"

Thanks for maintaining this package.
If you need further information (e.g. shipped driver), feel free to ask.
Cheers,
	Stefan

ok great, closing your bug as it's source will land after release in
unstable/testing.
