looks a bit similar to #289770, 
where CONFIG_PNP stole some ressources.

rebuilt a kernel-image against latest source in unstable 
without it and without some ISA sound driver, whose
compilation broke without it.

i warn you didn't have the time yet to test boot that,
so please have an second known good kernel handy.

it's denominated with -no-pnp

looking foward if aboves help, please provide dmesg in any case.
