Sure I remember - your box broke on the very first attempt to try the
PReP support in mkvmlinuz. What a shame. Anyway, thanks a lot for
getting back to us after so much time has passed.
In the meantime, I got a bunch of PReP boxen myself, including a
Tiger, and we were able to fix a lot of things. So the current 2.6
kernel should run nicely on your box now. If you feel like trying it
out, install the meta-package kernel-image-powerpc, which will pull in
the current kernel-image-2.6.9-powerpc package as a dependency. You
can then run 'mkvmlinuz 2.6.9-powerpc' to obtain a bootable image file
in /boot/vmlinuz-2.6.9-powerpc, which you can use like any PReP
zImage.
Regards, Jens.
