Package: kernel-image-2.6.8-1-686
Version: 2.6.8-10
Severity: important

I have installed the kernel-image-2.6 metapackage, and so this package
was updated/installed when I updated my system. In the process of the update lilo
aborted with the message 'Fatal: open /initrd.img: No such file or
directory' in it's logfile.
Creating this link manually (with 'ln -s/boot/initrd.img-2.6.8-1-686 /initrd.img') solved the problem.

This means you had version -9 installed, which had a problem with the
initrd.img link being removed due to a bug in the kernel-package version
with which it was built. The bug is fixed in -10 but because the bug is
in the postrm of -9 you'll see it when upgrading to -10. The bug should
not exist anymore as confirmed in http://bugs.debian.org/283147 earlier
today by Stephen Gran.

I'm closing this bug because I'm 99% sure it's the same bug :)
