Bug#279382: 64-bit kernel -> ldd -> mkinitrd issue
Hello Barak, hello Harri,
For me (on a amd64 platform) the problems seems to be a little more
complicated (ldd output is the same as Barak's).
# uname -a
Linux debian 2.6.8-9-amd64-k8 #1 Thu Oct 7 18:19:00 CEST 2004 x86_64 GNU/Linux
Before applying the patch, I get these output when installing a new kernel:
cpio: (0x00000000): No such file or directory
cp: cannot stat `(0x00000000)': No such file or directory
run-parts: /usr/share/initrd-tools/scripts/e2fsprogs exited with return code 1
Failed to create initrd image.
...after applying, just the cpio error dissappears - the cp error remains.
(Note: I haven't created a /usr/local/bin/ldd to cheat mkinitrd :))
Anyway...I have somehow a bad feeling about filtering output of ldd in that
manner...shouldn't ldd "get fixed" - as Barak supposed?
Cheers,
Oliver
