Bug#254983: #254983 On modprobe e1000 error: The EEPROM Checksum Is Not Valid
I've gotten the following comments from Intel, and thus thing it's
unlikely to be a kernel problem. Have you tested either with a
different kernel or do you have another e1000 card that does/does not
have the same problem?
