Bug#256008: kernel-image-2.6.6-1-686: hard reboot when playing sound (maestro3, Dell i8100, k 2.6.6)

Package: kernel-image-2.6.6-1-686
Version: 2.6.6-1
Severity: important

I don't know when this started happening, but in the last 2 months or so, my machine keeps rebooting when I try
to play sound, e.g. using ogg123 or playing a game (e.g. kobodl).

No oops, just a hard reboot.

Not sure if the problem should be reported to the kernel or to ALSA. I put it in the kernel package, and add
ALSA package information to the report.

I have seen the note at boot time that the maestro3 ALSA driver contains a hack. Not sure if it is related.

It is pretty frustrating. I don't think that could be hardware related. Correct me if I am wrong.
