I had one success running:

genkdmconf

to get things working after a downgrade, but after another upgrade then
downgrade even genkdmconf doesn't help me.

Funnily enough, iceweasel runs alright under KDE if started from thecommand line in a konsole window, with or without gdb, but it locks upif started from the K menu.
