So are you saying to let it uninstall all of that stuff? This is my wife's

No, no, no,no... apt would have uninstalled all those packages - until yesterday. Then the situation got way better (from a package-removal-upgrade perspective ;-) ), so I decided to give it a try. akonadiconsole, for example, was *not* removed during the dist-upgrade. But I think this only worked, because I still have some packages installed from experimental...

Lets see whether I can reply from Trojita via IMAP account.

Okay, I now have full dist-upgrade, i.e. my laptop is *past* g++ ABI
transition state and well Plasma still crashes on startup.

I get this in ~/.xsession-errors:

So it crashes really early.

And then this in Dr Konqi when I try to start konsole:

kwrite partly works. kglobalaccel crashes, gwenview partly works.

I did apt-get autoremove --purge and aptitude purge ~c.

kwin --replace within lxde session gives:

martin@merkaba:~> kwin --replace
kwin: FATAL ERROR KWin requires Xlib support in the xcb plugin. Do not configure Qt with -no-xcb-xlib

Well, lets see. As it seems to work for some I will try to downgrade that
qt 5.5 thing from experimental or upgrade qt to 5.5.0 in experimental completely next.

Thanks,
Martin
